Ultimate Privacy in Zanzibar

Nestled within colourful tropical gardens you will find seven unique villas surrounding a central pool and bar area on one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful beaches. Xanadu embodies the exotic Zanzibari dream. Palm trees sway over double hammocks, and bright African-print cushions adorn cool beach decks overlooking the turquoise Indian Ocean.

The property’s graceful Zambian owner, who can occasionally be seen wafting through to check everything is perfect, knows true style and appreciates that privacy is the ultimate luxury, whilst her team of butlers are attentive but discreet.

The villas are either one-bedroom or two-bedroom units with their own bathrooms, plunge pools and butler service. They are unique in their architecture; some boasting separate indoor living spaces, some outdoor and some rooftop. Eileen, the owner of Xanadu and a designer herself, loves celebrating Africa and the tropical environment in which Xanadu resides. All the furnishings are reupholstered every six months with fresh African prints and funky kanga fabrics.

The cuisine is to die for! Many argue it is the best in East Africa. Guests enjoy private dining served in various intimate locations across the property. The young South African activities manager Liam spear fishes daily for the lodge kitchen and all the herbs, fruit and vegetables are grown in an organic vegetable garden behind the property. There is a spa for indulgent relaxation, and, should you be looking for a truly special experience, Xanadu has its own Dhow Boat for champagne sunset sails.

For lovers of kaftans and suntans, and those looking for ultimate privacy, this is your place.
